BIO-DIESEL

Bio-diesel is a fuel alternative made from renewable resources.

It is recognized by the EPA as one of the Clean Fuel/Clean Technology fuel options.  Bio-diesel can be used in diesel vehicles in place of regular diesel fuel.

Pro's of choosing bio-diesel:

1. Proven track record

2. Horsepower, fuel economy, and torque are

    equivalent to diesel

3. Increases the lubricant ability of the fuel which leads

    to longer

engine life, lower maintenance costs, less equipment

downtime, and protect against fuel injector failure

4. Exceeds diesel in cetane1 number which results in

    superior ignition

5. Nontoxic & biodegradable

6. Bio-diesel has a higher flash point than diesel which

makes it more versatile in safety concerns

1 Cetane number or CN a measure of the combustion quality of diesel fuel under compression, one measure of fuel quality. Cetane number is actually a measure of a fuel's ignition delay; the time period between the start of injection and start of combustion (ignition) of the fuel. In a particular diesel engine, higher cetane fuels will have shorter ignition delay periods than lower cetane fuels. Cetane numbers are only used for the relatively light distillate diesel oils.
